Trains from Charing Cross
Charing Cross is the terminus for Southeastern services to Kent and south-east London. Trains run to Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and Hastings, and to Dartford, Gravesend and the Medway towns, many calling at Waterloo East and London Bridge on the way.
It is a compact station on the Strand. Its forecourt is home to the Eleanor Cross, a Victorian replica of the medieval monument that gave the area its name. The Bakerloo, Northern and District lines connect via Charing Cross and nearby Embankment Underground stations.
The heart of the West End
For many of our customers, Charing Cross is not about trains at all. It is the natural drop-off point for Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery, Covent Garden and the theatres of the Strand and St Martin's Lane. Our car is a simple way to get there and back for a matinee or evening show, without worrying about the last train to Norbiton.
The drive from Kingston
The usual route runs up the A3 through Wandsworth, crosses the river at Vauxhall or Battersea, and follows the Embankment to Charing Cross. The drive is typically 45 minutes to an hour. Traffic around Trafalgar Square and the Strand moves slowly on weekday evenings and at weekends, so book with time to spare before a show.
Evenings out
A popular pattern is dinner in Covent Garden, a show, and then a car home. Book your return time in advance, and your driver will meet you at an agreed point near the station. For a group heading out together, our 6 seater taxi or 7 seater taxi means nobody has to drive.

Other stations
Waterloo is just across Hungerford Bridge, if you need SWR trains towards Kingston or the south coast. Victoria station is the other main terminus for Kent and Sussex trains. We also collect for Charing Cross from Carshalton and across Sutton.
Embankment and the river
Just below Charing Cross, on the Victoria Embankment, are the riverboat piers and the gardens along the Thames. It is a good drop-off point for river cruises and Thames Clippers services. Tell us the pier name when booking, and we will drop you as close as the road allows.
