Mitcham, old and new

Mitcham has a long history. Its Cricket Green is one of the oldest cricket grounds in the world still in use, and the annual Mitcham Fair has been held for centuries. The town centre around Fair Green has markets and shops, while Mitcham Common, one of the largest open spaces in south London, stretches east towards Croydon.

From our Norbiton base we drive via Merton and either Colliers Wood or Morden, typically in 25 to 35 minutes. We cover all of CR4, including Mitcham town centre, the Cricket Green, Figge's Marsh, Eastfields, Pollards Hill, Beddington Corner and Mitcham Common.

Stations and trams

Mitcham has plenty of rail options, but they are spread out. Mitcham Junction and Mitcham Eastfields both have Southern and Thameslink trains into central London. Tramlink stops run across the area towards Wimbledon and Croydon. A taxi fills the gaps, especially with luggage or early in the morning before the trams start.

Airports from Mitcham

Mitcham is one of our best areas for Gatwick. The drive heads south through Carshalton or down the A23 corridor to the M23, and is typically 35 to 50 minutes. Heathrow is further, typically 55 to 70 minutes, crossing Merton and Kingston. For northern airports, our Luton Airport taxi takes the M25 round. We track flights and offer meet and greet on all collections.

Mitcham Common is loved by walkers and cyclists, and the nearby Morden Hall Park and Beddington Park are easy to reach by car. We are happy to drop off at one car park and collect from another. For families with young children, child seats are available on request on every journey.

Getting to Kingston and Croydon

Two of our most frequent Mitcham runs are west to Kingston town centre and east to Croydon for shopping and work. Both are awkward by public transport, involving a change or a slow bus route. A taxi goes directly, and you know the fare before you travel.
