The long way round, done comfortably
Stansted is on the far side of London from Kingston, near Bishop's Stortford in Essex. By public transport it usually means reaching Liverpool Street and then taking the Stansted Express, with a Tube or train journey across London first. With luggage, and especially for the early flights Stansted is known for, a door-to-door taxi is much simpler.
The drive is almost all motorway. We join the M25 and head round to junction 27 for the M11, then leave at junction 8 for the airport. Whether we go clockwise or anticlockwise round the M25 depends on traffic on the day. The clockwise route crosses the Thames at Dartford, where a crossing charge applies. Typical journey time is 75 minutes to an hour and 40 minutes.
Early morning flights
Many low-cost flights from Stansted leave between 6am and 8am, which can mean leaving Kingston at 3am. We work 24 hours a day, so a middle-of-the-night pick-up is routine for us. We suggest booking at least a day ahead for these flights so we can plan the car and driver.
For a departure, we usually recommend arriving at Stansted two hours before a short-haul flight. Add the drive time and a margin for M25 roadworks, which often run overnight, and we will agree a pick-up time with you.
One terminal, simple drop-off
Stansted has a single terminal building, so there is no confusion over where to go. There is a charge for using the drop-off zone at the front of the terminal. Ask when booking whether it is included in your quote.
Coming home to Kingston
After a late flight back, nobody wants to face the trains across London. We track your flight, and with meet and greet your driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name board. Then it is a straight run home to Norbiton, Colliers Wood or wherever you live.
