Why you need to tell us about your pet
Not every driver can carry animals. Some have allergies, and some journeys suit a different vehicle. When you mention your pet at the time of booking, we send a driver who is happy to take animals and a car with enough room. If a pet turns up unannounced, the driver may not be able to take it, and nobody wants that on the way to an urgent vet appointment.
When you book, let us know the type of animal, its size, and whether it travels in a carrier. For large dogs we usually recommend an estate or people carrier so there is space for the dog to lie down comfortably.

How to prepare your pet for the ride
Cats, rabbits and small dogs should travel in a secure carrier that sits on the floor or seat. Larger dogs should be on a lead and under control for the whole journey. A blanket or towel for your dog to sit on helps protect the seats, and it gives them something familiar that smells of home.
If your pet gets travel sick, avoid feeding them in the couple of hours before the journey, and tell us so the driver can take it gently. For longer journeys, such as a trip to Gatwick airport, let us know if you would like a short stop.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are different. Under the Equality Act 2010, licensed private hire drivers must carry assistance dogs and cannot charge extra for them, unless the driver holds a medical exemption certificate. If you travel with an assistance dog, you do not need to ask permission, but mentioning it helps us plan the right vehicle.
Choosing a vehicle
A saloon is fine for a cat in a carrier or a small dog. For bigger breeds, or a pet travelling with several family members, choose a 6 seater taxi or an estate. See the luggage space for each car on our fleet page.
Where we go
We carry pets from anywhere in Kingston and nearby, including Wimbledon with its large common, and Cheam, near Nonsuch Park. If you are staying locally with your pet, our hotel transfer taxi service can take you to pet-friendly hotels, too.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an extra charge for pets?
Please ask when booking. We will confirm the fare, including any cleaning or vehicle upgrade needed, before you confirm. Assistance dogs are always carried at no extra charge.
Can I bring my dog without a carrier?
Larger dogs can travel on a lead without a carrier. Small dogs, cats and other small animals should be in a secure carrier.
Can you take my pet to an emergency vet at night?
Yes. We are open 24 hours, so call us and explain it is an emergency. We will send the first suitable car we have.
Can my pet travel without me?
We only carry pets travelling with their owner or another responsible adult.
What if my dog is nervous in cars?
Tell us when you book. The driver can take corners and speed bumps gently, and you are welcome to sit next to your dog.
