Waterloo and Kingston
Waterloo is the busiest railway station in the UK by passenger numbers, and it is the one Norbiton residents know best. South Western Railway trains on the Kingston loop run between Waterloo and Norbiton, and SWR also runs to Wimbledon, Surbiton, Guildford, Woking, Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Exeter. The Jubilee, Northern, Bakerloo and Waterloo & City lines connect underneath.
So why take a taxi? Usually it is about luggage, timing or the last train. If you are heading off on a long SWR journey with heavy cases, or you have missed the last train home after an evening on the South Bank, a car is the easy answer.
Late nights on the South Bank
Waterloo is surrounded by some of London's best evening venues: the National Theatre, the Southbank Centre, the Old Vic, the BFI and the London Eye. The drive
The usual route follows the A3 north through Roehampton and Wandsworth, then past Vauxhall into Lambeth. The journey is typically 40 to 55 minutes, and quicker late at night. Waterloo's roads have taxi and drop-off areas around the station. Your driver will use the most convenient one for the entrance you need.
Trips to the coast
Travelling to Portsmouth for the Isle of Wight ferry, or to Southampton for a cruise? Many SWR trains from Waterloo also stop at Surbiton or Wimbledon, so it is worth checking. We can take you to Wimbledon instead to save time. For cruises, we can also quote to drive you all the way to the port.
