Getting from Kingston to Gatwick
Gatwick sits south of London in West Sussex, and from Kingston the drive is mostly on fast roads. Trains mean going into Clapham Junction or Victoria first and changing, which is hard with suitcases. A taxi takes you from your door to the terminal with no changes.
There are two main ways we drive it. The first runs down the A3 past Tolworth to the M25 at junction 10, east round the motorway to junction 7, then down the M23. The second heads south through Ewell and Epsom on the A240 or A217 to join the M25 near Reigate. The driver picks the better option on the day based on live traffic. Either way the drive is typically 45 minutes to an hour.
North Terminal or South Terminal?
Gatwick has two terminals, a few minutes apart, linked by a free shuttle train. Your airline decides which one you use, and this can change, so always check your booking. Give us your flight number and we will go to the right terminal. There is a charge for dropping off near the terminal buildings, so ask when booking whether it is included in your quote.
Timing a Gatwick departure
Because the route relies on the M25, which can slow suddenly, we allow a little more margin than for Heathrow. For a morning short-haul flight we typically suggest leaving about three hours before departure, and more on summer Saturdays and bank holiday weekends, when the M23 is busy with holiday traffic.
Arriving at Gatwick
We track your flight and time the pick-up to your actual landing. With meet and greet, your driver will be in the arrivals area of the correct terminal with your name on a board. If you land in the middle of the night, that is fine too. We work 24 hours a day.
